From Chatsworth
to City Hall

A life of Service

Haniff Hoosen was born in Chatsworth in the former Natal Province, a community that taught him early the value of dignity, opportunity and access.

He was first elected to the Durban City Council in 1996, dedicating himself to giving voice to neighbourhoods too often ignored.

Over the years he served in Parliament, held shadow‐ministerial roles and became known for accountability, integrity and results.
Now — he comes home to eThekwini, ready to lead the city he knows and loves.
